VISUAL ARTS PROGRAMS

The Centre for Autism Services Alberta’s visual arts programs for young adults offers creative participants with autism the opportunity to bring their ideas to life through a variety of media, and are led by instructors from the Nina Haggerty Centre for the Arts.

When you explore art with our classes, your creativity, and expression come first. We believe in treating every artist like a professional, no matter how young. Projects are decided upon based on your individual interests and strengths, so the projects we have listed are an example of some of the things we can explore, but it’s only the beginning!

As well, every participant will be invited to be a part of our annual year-end show. In spring, each artist will have a piece of their artwork displayed for sale in the Nina Haggerty Centre’s Stollery Gallery!

START is a group program for parents/caregivers of young children with autism. Based on Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT), this innovative program teaches parents practical strategies to support their child in developing communication skills.
