Behavioral Interventionist Part-Time

Gain valuable experience as a part-time Behavioral Interventionist working under the supervision of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver in home, evidence based interventions and services to children, youth and families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder.


  • Plan and facilitate all activities within a session schedule
  • Implement skill-acquisition and behavior-reduction plans under the direction of the team
  • Utilize proactive strategies to prevent challenging behavior incidents
  • Include and coach families and caregivers under the supervision of the team
  • Report any circumstances to the Behavioral Case Manager that might affect the client and/or services
  • Collect data related to individualized service plans
  • Create objective and professional daily session notes
  • Utilize TNActive Care software during shift to track progress and communicate with team


  • Experience working or volunteering with children in a home or community setting
  • Interest in working with children with special needs
  • Post-secondary education in progress is preferred
  • Clean Police Record Check and clean Child Intervention Check
  • First Aid with CPR, training provided if needed
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and time management skills
  • Ability to engage in play-based interventions including gross motor and fine motor movements
  • Some lifting or physical support may be required (up to approximately 50lbs)

Hours of Work

  • Some flexibility in shift times
  • Schedules can be: Mornings, Afternoons, Evenings and/or weekend shifts
  • 2 hours per shift
  • 2 – 4 shifts per week
