High School Students with Autism
Your future is waiting. Take the first step.
This innovative program provides a structured opportunity for high school students with ASD to prepare for future employment and build their résumés while volunteering in their community. Supported by peer mentors, CommunityWorks Canada (CWC) participants make important contributions to community organizations.
Participants take part in:
- Weekly sessions
- Job sampling and finding your interests
- Developing employment-readiness skills in a supportive environment
- Gaining valuable skills for life
- Working with peer mentors
- Building lasting friendships
Did You Know?
A strong indicator of long-term job success is the employment-related experiences we have as teenagers. Adults with ASD have the lowest employment rate in Canada at 11% (compared to the general population at 79% and other disabilities at 49%). The CommunityWorks Canada® program can help change that discrepancy.
Don’t have any volunteer or work experience just yet? Don’t worry! You can get started with CWC
- 14 – 17 years old, diagnosed with ASD
- Motivated to seek a volunteer or paid employment opportunity
- Average academic skills
An initial screening assessment will be conducted to ensure the appropriateness of the program application.

BECOME A SPONSOR!
We’re seeking a community-based sponsor to ensure that we can continue to offer high-quality programs for individuals with ASD. This is a fantastic way to support a local non-profit in your community while promoting neurodiverse programming for all.
If you are interested in providing sponsorship and/or other financial support to this program or other Centre for Autism Services Alberta programs, please contact Paul Nahirney, Development Officer email@example.com
