Services and Supports Now Available in Calgary!
The Centre for Autism Services Alberta has served families in Edmonton and surrounding areas for over 25 years. In the last 5 years, we have branched out, offering workshops, supports, and services across the province. We are pleased to be offering Specialized Services and other Developmental Supports in Calgary. Specialized Services (SS) and other Developmental Supports are funded through Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) (Alberta Human Services) to support families of children with severe disabilities including autism.
To access Specialized Services and other Developmental Supports in Calgary, children require a documented diagnosis of autism or a query of autism and must qualify under FSCD’s criteria.
Individualized services are delivered in the home and the community. They may include psychology and behavioural consultation, speech-language and communication services, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, aide supports, family coaching, and case management.
Our focus is on the child and the family with services designed to improve daily living skills and increase caregiver capacity to provide developmentally appropriate parenting. Children are provided direct care to improve function and parents are coached on concrete skills that will increase their child’s independence and improve the overall quality of life for the entire family.
